We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Engineer I, Integrated Systems. The Systems Engineer (SE) is responsible for the successful implementation and site initiation of the St. Jude Medical Integrated Lab. Implementation includes execution of site surveys, mechanical installation, upgrade/maintenance of capital equipment systems and their inter-connectivity with hospital information
systems. Additionally, the SE is responsible for the delivery of professional training programs for biomedical and/or clinical engineering departments. The SE services and supports St. Jude Medical’s most advanced medical technologies and is responsible for driving customer satisfaction through service excellence.

Impact this role will have on St. Jude Medical:
* Performs site surveys through specification of components and locations for critical medical device systems and modality implementations of hospital cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs and their associated network, power, user interfaces, components, and peripherals
* Participates in and executes specific site planning and technology installation – mechanical installation,interface setup, system maintenance, and service repair needs on designated equipment, including advanced level troubleshooting
* Responsible for configuration and enablement of data systems, connectivity products with hospital PACS, data archival, and electronic medical record systems, including remote connection
* Performs preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and corrective actions as assigned
* Performs administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer and internal service records in a timely manner
* Maintains communications with customers and partners with local sales colleagues to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction
* Maintains assets such as service tools and test equipment properly, ensuring they are accessible and calibrated
* May include technical training of clinical engineering and HCP staff on designated equipment
* Utilizes the escalation process via technical support and engineering departments to resolve reported technology issues, conducting root cause analysis that will lead to effective problem solving
* Assists in system level specification and design including the production of drawings, specifications, subsystems, network component configurations and release documentation
* This position is expected to travel approximately 50-75% and, at times, work unconventional hours
* May support in region service teams for St. Jude Medical EP and cath lab capital equipment technologies and services
* Provides Marketing and Sales support for industry conventions that showcase the Integrated Lab
* Meets FDA, Environment Health and Safety and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements
* Candidate must be able to travel with minimal notice, including internationally.
* Must have a valid passport and driver’s license
Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand St. Jude Medical’s marketplace success:
* 4 years’ experience in a systems/service engineering role, supporting medical device equipment and technologies
* Experience or training in a medical setting and interaction with medical staff.
* Ability to interface with multiple groups in the organization to resolve technological issues.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse cross-functional team environment.
* Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution based service process.
* Detail oriented and organized, possesses a strong analytical skillset.
* Quick learner and an ability to adapt to situations while on location.
* Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in a preceptor role.
* Travel up to 75%.
* Physical ability to lift 30 pounds overhead.
* Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field - or - Associates Degree with 5 years’ experience servicing medical equipment, preferred in a cardiology or electrophysiology lab
* Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
* Demonstrated familiarity with electrophysiology or cardiac catheterization lab procedures and protocols.
* Ability to understand and comply with company policies and applicable industry laws and regulations.
* Personal computing skills with ability to perform word processing/spreadsheet tasks to perform documentation, presentation, and analysis activities.
* Experience with integration and networking a plus
