We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Operator I to be responsible for the production of high quality cardiovascular medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Impact this role will have on St. Jude Medical: * Ensure that relevant job documentation for cell operations and functions is accurate and up to date. * Operators troubleshoot, interpret, cooperate and are flexible to allow for a successful self-managed team. * Must be able to clearly communicate ideas, problems and solutions to all levels of manufacturing management in both written and oral form. * Positively represent and support the company’s policies and procedures. * Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal customers and external customers such as tours. * Follow safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety devices when performing all operations. * Participate in continuous improvement/quality initiatives in order to enhance production processes to achieve quality and profitability metrics. * Perform routine/preventative maintenance on applicable equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize accidents to enhance longer life of equipment and tools. * Maintain accurate records to ensure traveler and quality documents are accurate, all parts are traceable and quality issues can be addressed to assure the quality of all products. Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand St. Jude Medical’s marketplace success: * High School diploma or equivalent * Experience in a medical or other regulated production environment. * Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision and meet deadlines on multiple projects. * Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the job, including the ability to set up and operate specialized and sophisticated automated/manual manufacturing equipment. * Demonstrated ability to use magnifying devices (e.g., microscopes) and frequently used hand tools. Ability to enter information into a manufacturing software tracking system. * The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is also required; this requirement includes clear, understandable speech and demonstrated comprehension skills. * Must be able to maintain regular and predictable attendance; the ability work overtime is also required. * Must have the ability to on occasion lift up to approximately thirty pounds.
